# How to test QR code scanning with Android Emulator Camera?

This article shows the steps to load an image into Android Emulator Camera. This is useful when you need to test QR code scanning, and you don't have a physical device.

1. When you open the camera on an Android Emulator, you normally see a living room with a TV.

2. You can select an image under the camera menu from the emulator setting.

3. Then, in the Android Emulator, the selected image is rendered on the wall. You must navigate from the living room into the dining room to see this image.

4. By holding to the SHIFT key, you can use the arrow keys to change your viewing angle and the WASD keys to walk around.

5. Turn 180 degrees back from where you see the TV. There is a room on your right.

6. Go into the room, and you should see the QR image on the wall.

7. Now, your QR scanner should be able to detect a QR code and continue to the next steps.
